Princess & The Frog

Sorry if this has already been discussed!  I tried to look and didn't really see anything.

Those of you who took your DCs this weekend, what did you think?  I thought it was a little scary for my 3 year old.

Re: Princess & The Frog

  • I loved it. I thought DD would set through it better than she did but, it was 9:00 am when we went. It was a little scary but, all disney movies have something like that in them.
  • We are taking DD to see it tomorrow

  • Jackson really enjoyed it and was not scared.

There were moments I thought he might be, but he wasn't.

  • I did think it was very cute, and so funny in places.  DH thought I was crazy for laughing.  DD did enjoy it, but she just seemed a tad put off at certain parts.  Probably because it was her first time in a theater.

I don't necessarily think all Disney movies have something quite like that though, at least not all the new ones.  I don't think the thistles in Tinkerbell really count.  And Cars?  I can't think of anything really scary in that...  And those are the ones that my kids really watch.

  • I took Georgia and she did like it, but I think she was expecting a little more princess and a little less frog. I loved it!
  • I thought it was great.  The kids were scared at certain parts, but not overly so.

  • We are taking Preston on Thursday. I can't wait.

On another note: I can't believe there is actually controversy over this movie.

  • We went friday night and DD loved it.  There are some scary bits with the demons, but DD sat on my lap and was just fine.  (usually she's a scaredy cat!)

This, exactly.  I thought Noah might have questions afterward, but he didn't think twice about it.

It's on CNN (dh is an avid watcher). I guess some people are upset because the princess in the movie is from African decent. Truthfully, I didn't even notice from the previews (and trailer that we watched). Some people are always going to complain about something.
