aughhh!!! does it take you FOREVER to leave the house in the morning?

I have been trying to go to the gym for 45 minutes!

and I am not getting dressed beyond workout clothes or anything-- I just cannot get it together.  now it'll be another 15 minutes by the time we bundle up.  what a pain!

Re: aughhh!!! does it take you FOREVER to leave the house in the morning?

  • Um, yeah.  There are some days I just give up.  Between feeding C, changing her diaper, getting R ready, myself ready, the C needs to eat again, another diaper change, and on and on, it can be ridiculous.

DH experienced it this weekend, and he admitted that he didn't understand why we end up staying home some days, but after trying to get the girls ready by himself, he said he "gets it".

  • Yes.  If I run around like a chicken with my head cut off, I can usually make it out the door to school, dance, etc. in about an hour and a half.  If we're running somewhere that doesn't require as much packing/planning (no backpacks, etc.), I might be able to get out of here in an hour...but rarely.  Add DH into the mix and it just adds time to that.

The only time we can really rush it is on days when we're totally 100% ready the night before like we have an early flight or just have to run DH down to a friend's who is driving him to work or something like that.  But then I don't get the girls dressed, I probably don't get in a shower, and often we give the girls "breakfast" (or a snack) in the car on the way to wherever.

  • Takes me forever to get out the door.  Even when we only have shoes and coats left.  It's everything times 4, so it takes longer than I think it should.

  • Only on the days I'm not going into the office.  I can get us up and out of the house by 7:15am on the three days a week I work.  The rest of the days...forget about it.

This morning I hopped out of bed at 5:30, had everything ready to go for breakfast when DD woke up in hopes of getting to the gym and run errands before 9:00am.  Only to remember the effin' cable guy is coming between 8-12pm.  Grrr.

  • I'm usually up at 5 and we leave at 7:30.  Between getting myself ready, pumping, getting the baby dressed and fed, fighting with Rory over what she is going to wear and how she wants her hair, beds made, getting all their crap together, then everyone into the car...I feel like I want to call it a day by the time I drop them off and head to work.  It's exhausting.
