I defiently understand. I am not a fan of vaccinations at ALL and DD is on an alternative vaccination schedule. I can defiently see a difference after she receives her vaccinations. But if your insurance covers the synagis shot I would defiently get it. The risk of our children getting polio is so slim, but the risk of RSV is pretty high and it can be deadly. DD has received 2 shots so far and I have not seen any side effects. She cried for about 15 seconds and then she is back to her happy little self.
dd is also on an alternative vaccine schedule. she does great with her vaccines though. and she has had 2 synagis shots so far & has done great. no side effects--just cried for a few minutes & then she was fine!
we are delaying typical vaccinations. all of them. but we still get synagis. it is made with the harvested antibodies (from mice) preserved in a sweetener. (obviously that's the "charla version" of the research i've found on the topic.)
my daughter has had 2 shots so far and had no adverse effects. she doesn't even seem crabby. she cries after the shot, and then is fine.
this is totally contrary to what my friends have experienced with other vaccinations... site redness, listlessness, fever, sleepiness, etc...
go for it. and good for you for thinking about these things....

OOOOOh it must burn, because she wailed like nothing I've ever heard before.
So besides making ME cry in the office, I went to hug her and she grabbed my necklace and choked me!
I will be removing all jewelry before her next one...
