So my second ultrasound was today and it went really good baby wise but I wasn't to pleased with the ultrasound tech. I haven't ever been there before because we switched drs. The u/s was actually at an imaging center though. I loved my old drs office it was just too far away. She did not say hardly 2 words - I had to ask if things were looking ok and she said-yeah. Then I had to ask to see the screen cause it was turned so only she and my hubby could see it. But overall everything is fine. As long as this LO is growing strong and healthy I will deal with people that are inconsiderate. I am not normally one to get annoyed with people THAT easily but I guess since we have had 2 m/c i thought that people would just act a little nicer towards us. You would think as soon as she saw things looking good she would have been excited FOR us and told us but- nope. Anyways I am extremely happy to have seen and heard the heartbeat. It makes me feel a LITTLE better about this pregnancy. I'm just so glad that things are going good so far. And I pray that it continues this way. Next appt isn't til Jan 4.
Re: We have a heartbeat!!! (and a vent)
Congrats! Sorry about the tech- I'm sure that was frustrating. But if it was at an imaging center I'm sure they were behaving a little differently. I've found that the techs directly associated w/ my dr.'s office are very friendly and supportive, but I think of them almost as nurses who are part of the office. I think those at imaging centers must get concerned about giving misinformation/being blamed for something- there's got to be reasons why they seem disconnected. Just a guess.
But continued best wishes for a H&H 9 months!
When we had DD we had the choice of going the hospital or to an imaging center for the ultrasound. The difference was that at the hospital, the ultrasound would be attended by a doctor, who would immediately tell you what they were seeing, whereas at the imaging center a tech would do it and then we would have to wait for an OB to give us the report because the techs aren't supposed to comment on what they're seeing. We went to the hospital and had to walk FOREVER through winding corridors and park a mile away but it was worth it to feel like an active participant in the ultrasound and not have to wait on pins and needles to be called with the result.
