Cramping

Could LO be coming soon? On Monday I was dilated 1 cm and 70% effaced, the baby was dropped way down into my pelvis. I have been feeling this all day and I have just been waiting it out but now I am wondering if I should call L&D. The cramping wont go away... The baby has been moving around alot and I dont want to make a bigger deal over something if it really isnt anything. Ugh!

    Do the cramps come and go?  Where are the cramps located?

    Cramping in itself is not unusual in the last part of pregnancy.  Cramping in waves that comes and goes might be labor.

    I agree with pp.  With my last pg, I had general crampiness at 36w6d, and over the course of the next couple of days, the cramps became timeable contractions.  I delivered DD at 37w1d.

    I wouldn't call L&D unless you are able to time the cramps and note a pattern.  If they are getting stronger, timeable, and closer together, then call L&D.  For me, that took a couple of days.  And it could just be that your body is kind of gearing up, but labor may still be days to weeks away.
