S/O to sterilizing

When did/are you sterilizing all of your bottles/nipples/pacifiers?

I don't want to do it too soon, but I want to know they're sterile and ready the day we're home from the hospital.

TIA.

Re: S/O to sterilizing

  • I'm going to start this process next week- so at 37. It's really the last thing I have to do.

  • I did it this weekend. I put them in a plastic baggy so that they wouldn't be on the bottle rack or in the cabinets collecting dust in the meantime.

  • I didn't even think of that... maybe because I just got some pacifiers and I don't have any bottles yet. Do you do it in hot water or what do you ladies recommend?
  • Great idea about the baggies, PP.

Other PP, I use microwave sterilizing bags.

I just boiled the nipples and pacifiers for 5 minutes. I didn't boil the actual bottles because we are using drop-ins and no milk will come in contact with those. But if I were using regular bottles I probably would have boiled them as well.
