Odd question: What does it mean if my dog's nose it always wet?

I *think* most dog noses are always wet, but I have a cat so not really sure.

My dogs nose is always wet....she has allergies, but she's also fat and slobbery so she's just moist in general.

Your dog might have allergies. My dog's nose is usually wet, but not drippy.

But then again, he's not especially moist in general

dry, warm nose=take dog to the vet

This rule does not take drippy into account.

Old wives' tale, as hopefully papetvet and sinisterkat can agree ?? I'd always heard that old wives' tale, but m dogs' noses are always dry and warm here in AZ.?

My dogs nose always drips - and there's nothing wrong with her.  I think she's like a human, her nose runs when it gets cold.

whoa really?  My dogs have always had cold and wet noses here in Colorado. eeenteresting.  Maybe it depends on breed?

Not sure where sinisterkat is tonight, but I'm here for a few more minutes.  I don't put much stock into cold/wet or warm/dry noses unless something else is going on...like a fever.  My dog's nose is usually a little moist, but never discharge that is yellow, green, or red.  If it's just moist and wet, no worries. 

And there's no question that's stupid, cowgirl....
