Hello all! I'm finally online. I had a crazy crazy night.
I was pretty ready to fall asleep around 12:30 when I realized my mom has my design software installed. So, of course, I play with it for way too long. I then started having decently strong contractions at 2 am. They hooked me up to the monitors for an hour and said they'd talk to my doctor. They were 6 minutes apart.
They came in a half hour later with an IV and a shot (mind you, it is 4 am at this point and I have slept for a half hour). Finally, after everything settles down, I get to fall asleep around 5:30 this morning.
I get woke up at 7 for my vitals, 8 am for my doctor to come in (I'l update that in a sec), 9 because I have to pee and the nurse took my IV out, 9:30 because I have to take my meds, 11 for vitals, and DH came in ten minutes after that.
Everything is fine, but my ute just likes to freak me out.
I'm so tired! And whiny! I feel like a cranky four year old. DH just left at 3 so I could sleep, but my mom called me to update facebook so no one would worry. Haha... and now I can't sleep.
Anyway, my doctor... She checked me and I'm still at 4.5 cm. She told me that last Friday's u/s measured Little at the 3rd percentile (apparently I was told the wrong weight). She ordered an u/s for tomorrow morning. If Little measures above the 20th percentile, then they will think about sending me home because they consider me "stable" at this point.
If Little measures below the 20th percentile, they will induce me. They are afraid that Little isn't growing for some reason and my body is trying to spit out the baby. She said that since I am past the 32 week mark, there is an excellent chance that Little will grow better in the NICU than in my ute.
Sooooooooooo... that's my long, but eventful update.
Re: UPDATE from L&D
I'm sorry you're going through so much. Just try to keep in mind that you have made awesome progress and now, you're at a point where things will be okay. Whatever they need to do to ensure healthy baby is what needs to happen. Please keep us updated!!!
I hope LO is well and you can go home!! T&P!!
Oh yeah, VAGINA VAGINA VAGINA!
Yowza... well, keep on rockin' it!
I've got my fingers crossed for an awesomely successful u/s tomorrow morning, and a gorgeously, luxuriously satisfying nap this afternoon!
big brothers 12.2009 and 02.2012
I am so sorry about the not sleeping thing. I don't know how anyone gets any sleep in the hospital. I hope you get to go home still pregnant soon.
I have a small baby also. She is always in the 10-20%. It is just one of the pleasant side effects of PIH for me.
Hopefully you can take a nap today and get some rest.
Ape
Haha, that totally did.
I am still waiting on a status update specifically about your VAGINA.
lol get some sleep mama!
Still don't know! Tomorrow will be my 9th u/s. How's that for perseverance?
LOL!!!!!
Shorty, I don't know if you saw the movie The Business of Being Born...well one of the ladies - the producer of the movie went into labor early by a month I think. Anyways it turns out the baby was breech and had the cord wrapped around it's neck and she had to have a c-section to get the baby out. Anyways your story reminds me of that lady....because it actually turned out better that the woman got her LO out because they realized the baby was not getting enough food or nutrition....The baby boy was shown a few months later doing so well and HUGE!
Well, contraction inducing or not, I love my new bedrest buddy badge, LOL! Man, I didn't know you had a runt baby too?! Now all need is some contractions and we can have a full blown baby race.
I am still irritated with all the internet blockage in this place....I am wishing I had your freedom!
Sending good vibes your way Shorty. Thanks for the update. Sounds like your docs are clear about a plan, and that must feel nice. I hope whatever needs to happen does. Here's hoping for a 20th percentile soon!
VAGINES.
I didn't know I had a runt baby either!
After my u/s last week, I asked the nurse how much the baby possibly weighed. She told me 3 lb 12 oz. She was apparently WRONG. If it was 2.12, then that's still concerning because that was the guess at the u/s a week and a half before that one, meaning Little didn't grow at all. Oy oy oy.
I just asked the nurse (a different one) to tell me what the u/s last week said. We'll see what her answer is.
I'm glad you like the badge!
