I went in this morning to get my HINI shot and my flu shot - I needed to make my first OB appt. so I figured I would make it while I was there. So I go up to the front desk and said I need to make my first appt. and she said oh you need to call to make the appt. all snotty like - I said why do I need to call when I am right here - she said oh you are coming from the fertility doctor - like it was a bad thing - she took my info and said she would need to call me back tomorrow with an appt. date and time - WTF? I can see I am going to miss my RE office already.

Re: Got my Flu shot and already hate the OB office
Clomid M/C 8 weeks 2/08 *IVF #1-DD born 3/09
*Surprise BFP-T18 baby lost at 13w 1/10 *FET #1-DS born 2/11
I needed a call back as well. I was called back by a nurse who asked a ton of questions about last period and blah blah, just like a regular ole' pregnant woman who POAS and bam!
The transition is a hard one, but once I talked to the doctor I ended up loving my OB experience. Hopefully it will be the same for you!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Krissy just reminded me that I had to have a "call back" as well. They have some special "OB coordinator" who had to set it up instead of the regular appointment person.
And it totally irritated me too
The transition from RE to OB is a hard one. In fact, I really liked my OB, but found that the *staff* at the OB's was so different from the RE's that it just about made me crazy! So sorry your experience is starting off this way. Definitely consider shopping around if you fear it will continue.
That's obnoxious. If reception had said that I needed to call to make the appointment, I would have been inclined to whip out my cell phone and called them while standing in front of them, if only to make the point. It seems awfully silly. I understand if they have questions for you, but still...
I would agree though that you should definitely vote with your feet. If you're not happy with them, it's not likely to get better. Only you can choose, but I am very glad I left the first practice I saw. I'm not usually high maintenance and just tend to believe professionals will be professional, the second practice was like night-and-day in comparison.
