By "meals" I mean solids (cereal, fruit/veggie).
DD had her 6mo well check today and the pedi's handout says 3meals a day. I thought the new recommendation was to start at 6mo? We actually started at 5mo and DD now has oatmeal/fruit in the AM and oatmeal/veg in the PM. I did the same with DS, just wondering what others are doing/did.
Re: How many "meals" does your 6mo old eat/day?
We saw an older pedi when ours was on maternity leave. She had a similar handout.
We started solids at 6 months (well, really just before). She had 1 meal/day up until 9 months. I added the 2nd meal at 9 months and the 3rd meal at 12 months. By 8 months she was also getting table foods as snacks.
Our pedi said most babies are eating 2 meals/day by 9 months and 3 meals/day by 12 months. I basically followed her advice along with what I'd read on kellymom.
