Success after IF

Anyone know about Loestrin24?

I know many of us are not on BCP, but I am and this pill has really been wacking out my system.

The first month I started it when I got my period and pretty much bled/spotted the ENTIRE month!  Then this last cycle, I got my AF on cd19.  I was still on the active pills and didn't start the placebo for another week or so.  So, I bled from CD19 to the end of the placebo.

I started another pack, but if this crap happens again...I'm calling my OB!  Part of the reason I wanted to go back on BCP was that I was getting AF every 21 days.  This sucks!

Anyone have any experience on this?  Are the hormones just too low for my body?

  • It was actually the only one that worked for me out of about 5, no help here, sorry.

  • I was on that years ago, and didn't have any problems with it.

  • I've used it for 2 months, the second month was a bit better but I had the same issues you are having.  I didn't take it this month, I've been having headaches and I'm dizzy alot so I stopped it to see if that's the cause.  I see my gyn on the 28th and asking for something else.
  • I'm just starting my second month on it and I didn't have the issue you did.  I got AF two days after the last active pill and AF stopped 2 days after I started the next pack.  However, I've been super-cranky and emotional since I've had AF...like way worse than normal (no BCP).  Thought I'd try it one more month and if I have the same issue, it's gone!

  • I think that's one of many BCPs I've been on over my lifetime.  I don't remember ever having s/e like that though.  With all of them, I'd make it through the pills, and get AF on day 2-3 of the placebo.  Definitely call your OB.  There are so many BCPs now on the market.  It takes a little to find the right one for you.

  • I Had problems where I didn't get my period at all some months on it. This was before I knew I had PCOS. I think maybe for some people it has too low amount of hormones or something.
