I'm so sorry you have to go through all this and that you've got such a nightmare healthcare situation to deal with! I really hope you can get in with a good MD asap! Maybe after your first clinic appt they could refer you to an MD? Best of luck and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Wow, I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that just to get some help. I can say this, you are so very strong to keep making all of those phone calls. I get pretty severe anxiety attack (like I have been for the past few days) and the thought of having to make all of those calls and having to repeat myself makes crazy (not super duper crazy;). I can't say I would have kept trying. I'm on the computer right now just to make myself do something and to keep my mind from racing. I'm so glad you have your dh and moms support, I do as well and it means the world! (((BIG HUGS)))

Even through all that you pushed to get help. You should be very proud of yourself for doing that. I'm sorry that you're going through all of this and I hope that it works out for you soon.

Wow, what the hell is wrong with your OB that she wouldn't refer you? That is absolutely ridiculous. I'm so sorry you had to go all through that and are still not getting to see a doctor. I hope things get straightened out soon, and I'll be thinking of you. ((hugs))

I am so sorry. I wish so badly you wouldn't feel embarassed or ashamed. I know we are only internet friends but we are here for you! SO many women deal with PPD and depression in general, you are NOT ALONE!
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF
I'm SO sorry it's been so rough for you to get help, Kristin. I can't believe your OB wouldn't help -- you weren't asking her to call in a prescription after 3 months of not seeing her, just to make a referral!!!
As a side story, my sister was just diagnosed with depression a few weeks ago and was told to move in with my parents, so she's been with them in AZ ever since. She had joked that she had to move to AZ for the winter...not so hard. She was really hesitant to take the antidepressant but I think it's a good thing to get her over the hurdle. I talked to her yesterday since she's driving back up to OR this week to get completely moved out; she joked that she had started anxiety medication because "the antidepressants were making me anxious, and in this country, if you have a side effect from one drug, they prescribe another drug."
In any case, you're far from alone, and I hope you can be more *proud* than embarrassed for doing what you had to do, esp. despite multiple obstacles. I just hate that they made it so difficult for you to do what you needed to do. Take care of yourself, Mommy! And GOOD FOR YOU!

Better you admit that you need help than end up doing something that harms you or the boys. If you need anything let me know.
Oh Kristin,
