*sob* B didn't want to get rocked to sleep

i know this is probably a good thing, but to me it just symbolizes that he is growing up and getting more independent.

Usually I nurse or rock him to sleep.   But lately if he doesn't pass out on the boob he kind of strains and just wants to lie in his crib rather than be held and rocked.  I guess he knows the crib means sleep and is telling me he is ready for bed, but it makes me a little bit sad

Re: *sob* B didn't want to get rocked to sleep

  • DS has been going through this for a couple weeks now...I have to sit him on my lap facing outwards and sing to him.  It's the only way.
  • I wish DD would do this. Its so hard for me to get her to go to sleep no matter how much I nurse her, rock her, bounce her, etc.

  • I've been working on drowsy, but awake with DD. I know I'll miss it too when she is doing it full time. She has never liked me to rock her to sleep, she only wants nursed to sleep, which I enjoy but now she needs to outgrow. She lets my mom rock her to sleep daily for her naps. I'm secretly jealous (don't tell my mom).

  • My LO does the same thing.  As much as I want to snuggle with him, him not wanted to be rocked is a great thing in the long run!  Just do extra cuddle time during the awake periods.
