Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Chiropractor

I took Natalie to the chiropractor today. He adjusted her neck and something with her back. She cried while he was doing it but calmed down as soon as he was done. I hope it helps her. I feel so bad for her. He also gave me a LOT of unsolicited advice that I'm saving for another post.

Who else has taken their LO to the chiro? Did it work for you? If yes, how long until you noticed a difference?

Sam has her own reasons, but I did it for DS's colic & digestive issues.  Infant chiropracty is pretty common, but you have to go to a peds chiropractor.  Oh, I should also say the adjustment is like a stretch - not like an adult adjustment :)

Natalie has really bad colic as well as reflux issues. We've heard from various people that chiropractors have worked for their babies. I researched it a bit and talked to the chiropractor about it. He adjusted his own kids and has worked with other babies as well. He said that she had a slipped disc in her back. She also really favors turning her head to the right side only so he worked with her neck.

  • My husband is a chiropractor and he adjusts infants as well (infant adjustments are nothing like adult adjustments.)  It is also recommended bc of the impact birth has on baby's vertebra and body in general.  I agree though that the chiro needs experience with infants!  Growing up I never went to the chiro- but couldn't live without it now.  It is great for preventative measures and keeping the body healthy as well as helping with medical problems (ie- infant reflux).

  • DS went when he was a month old for colic and reflux.  It didn't make a difference at all for him, but I've heard others say it worked for them.  Could all be coincidence.  Hard to tell.

  • We have been going ever since she was about a month old.  My chiropractor does infants as well.  It has done wonders for her torticolis.
