What to do for DH to say thanks?

My DH has just been amazing lately. We got married on 11/7/09 and got pregnant estimated on 11/9 (we were trying but never expected to be as lucky as we have been!) and I feel kind of guilty that we are newlyweds and the sex just... well is pretty nonexistent. I am tired all.the.time. And starting with nausea. And aside from sex, he takes care of pretty much everything! I still try to make dinner, because the poor man can't cook to save his life! But he's been cleaning, taking care of all the dogs, he gets things for me when I'm resting, he doesn't complain *very much at least* and in the snow he walks me everywhere, hehehe, he's a little protective, but I think it's adorable!

Anyways, what can I do to express how thankful I am! I want him to feel appreciated!

Hmm. That's a good question. I would maybe get him a card that expresses your thank you?? My DH does all of that as well and I just say thank you and that seems to be okay.. I've never thought about "doing" something for him.

Yes I do bet that a BJ would be appreciated. Or buy him some nice beer or make him cookies or something as second best. Don't feel guilty about not having sex though, just have faith that you'll get your sex drive back at some point.

I've been trying to figure out something too, because like you, my DH has also been fantastic!  I've been put on light duty right now so I'm home most of the time and not allowed to do house work.  He's been taking care of it all, and on top of it, he's doing some remodeling on the house for the babies.  For Christmas, he's getting a special present from me and the babies - a plane ticket to see go see his friends in LA where he grew up and have some good quality guy time.  My mom has agreed to come stay with me while he's gone, so he'll feel comfortable knowing we're being well cared for while he's gone.

Maybe you could try to set up something special for him so that he could get away and just focus on himself for a day or two?

Bwahaha! Funniest.Ever. But...it's totally true. A BJ will send him through the roof with happiness and hold him off of sexual activity for awhile. You can do other things like give him a back or foot massage. Or a booklet of the sexy things you'd like to do to him (when you're not nauseaus). Or buy him something he's been wanting but won't buy for himself. Give him a night out with the guys (buy the beer, or give him $50 to buy drinks, etc).

Maybe a hand job won't be so HARD on your gag reflex:)  But you never know your sex drive can hit at ANY moment.  I woke up at 4 am wanting some RIGHT THEN.  I woke DH up cause as much as he loves his sleep i didn't think he wanted to miss this!

Agree with BJ and a free night out with the boys without nagging -- not that you nag (I tend to, sometimes BOO) -- that's just what I'm doing for my DH...oh, and I'm throwing in being the Designated Driver for all the guys...I may need a nap to make it past 9 to pick them up, but I'll be the coolest pregnant wife they know - of course, BJ only for my DH...heehee

I LOL'd at what the poster below your post said (BJ). There's a lot of truth in that. My DH likes getting flowers. So I usually get him flowers just cause..throw in a card and there's a nice thank you gift and also getting away from the fact that most people think only women can get flowers as a gift/thank you!!

So glad you have a good DH! It makes life easier!

Totally agree, you could also do a gift basket, but in a cooler with some of his favorite things. (beer, food, movies...)
