I've seen some cute pics of babies propped up before they can sit up for photos. What do you guys use besides a bumbo or besides just propping them up on couch cushions? Post pic if you don' tmind!
You can hold them up from behind and cover your arm/hand with a backdrop. Also, if you have something really sturdy, they could lean against it long enough for a picture. Maybe a basket with stuff in it to keep them up?

when we go to picture people, they use a boppy bouncy seat with a cloth over it. also, with A they used a boppy pillow and propped him up on his tuppy:
bouncy seat ----
boppy pillow ---
(sorry that one doesn't show it as well - he was on his dummy [duh] with his arms up on the pillow)
How old is LO? I mainly used a boppy different ways (with and without pillows), the bouncer with a blanket over it, the bumbo, or I sat him in a corner when he was under 3 months. Then I was able to place him just about anywhere on the couch after that. Now he sits unassisted so he goes anywhere.
He's about 10 weeks here I think. This is him in his bouncer:
I don't have a boppy, so I use the couch. The corner works best for me. You can always cover it with a sheet or blanket to create a different background.
When she was really little I would lay her on her side on a slight incline with small pillows.

i have what i like to call "the bed series"... i have two large pillows on my bed that work perfectly for her to sit right where they meet (AW alert! AW alert!):
I don't have a boppy (GASP!! LOL) but I used the corner of an armchair, draped with a dark blanket for some of X's pictures... and (LOL) a cat bed, covered with a blanket for some others. The rest I just laid him down for. I have a bouncer chair that would work well, too. If you have one of the car seat carrier thingies, you could drape that with a blanket, too.
We also popped X into a wrapped box for some Christmas present pictures.

I use my glider and plan to do so for all my "monthly" photos.
