Opinions needed - this time not about congestion :)

Benadryl is allowed per my Ob/gyn, and I want to take it tonight because I have chronic hives that have gotten worse since I went off Allegra when I found out I was pregnant.  My face is now swollen!  UGH!!  I can deal with swollen feet and hands but not the face.  I'm worried about taking over the counter meds during the first trimester.  Should I do it?  Thoughts?

I'm not trying to flame you, really. But-your doctor ok'd it, yet you are still seeking advice from internet strangers?!?

 Benadryl is ok by your OB and I took it in first tri last time.  Your Dr would tell you not to take it if you couldn't/shouldn't

I took Sudafed in the 1st tri and if thedoc said it was ok.  I tried to limit it though.  would only take when I could not take the congestion anymore and so I ended up taking it once a day.  same with the tylenol for the headache

Thanks for the opinions ladies!  I guess I'm uber paranoid and my dr's office seems to answer questions very quickly because they're so busy.  I can't wait till I get in there on the 21st to really get to the meat of things.

I have a list of safe meds the doc gave me and benedryl is right on there so I say go ahead.
