I am feeling very discouraged because I'm 39 1/2 weeks and have absolutely no body changes to make me think labor is on its way. No effacement, no dilation, baby hasn't dropped, no Braxton Hicks, nothing. If I wasn't sure of the due date and wasn't measuring right at point, I'd think I was still in week 35 or something. I read all these posts of people who are already 1-2 cm at their 36 week internal and are disappointed about it! Anyone else in the same boat? Please reassure me that I'm not the only one with a stubborn body and baby!
Re: Anyone else 39+ with body showing no signs of labor coming??
I am 39 weeks & 4 days, I am only 1.5 dialated and 50% effaced. My baby still hasn' t dropped. I have tried every old wives tale. On Thursday I have an ultrasound to determine size & to see when I will be induced.
Hang in there
during my first pg that was me-no nothing! i didn't make any progress until i was in the hospital for 2 days on pitocin which started at 41 weeks 2 days and my dd was 11 days late!!!! (not to scare you, but that is my story).
it should have been an indicator of my daughter's future temperment-stubborn and i'll do it when i'm ready to do it!!!
this time around i had an internal last week to see if i could travel for a night away and dr was like "oh i can feel up there but you are still thick, but making more progress that you did with Liddy." I pretty much laughed and said "duh i made no progress with her so any progress is more progress." dr. laughed. so hang in there and just know others go through it. have a good cry (it always seemed to help me.) and know that others understand the waiting sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and a 30 week pg woman has no idea what the wait is like-listen to us that have either been there or who are right there with you!)
and then for your second child do what i did and when the dr. asked when I thought my due date was i said "anywhere from jan. 1-13." she told me that was a good attitude to have!!!
