Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Lithuania has nothin' on me.

I actually loved scrimping and saving to take 12 weeks off only to be greeted with Indifferent's and Hmm's from some of my coworkers when I told them how "long" I would be gone.  It was awesome.  The American dream.  So there.

  • Like they thought it was too long?

Or they were being judgy about you taking "only" 12 weeks?

  • We get 13 weeks paid where I work, and everybody thought that was outrageous!  My SIL is a teacher, and they get no paid time.  Just whatever vacation time they have.  So, she only stays home 4 weeks with her babies....and thought my time was crazy!  I actually took an extra unpaid 2 weeks because I wasn't ready at 13 weeks!  People should EXPECT a mother to stay home at least 3 months, even in America!

  • 16 weeks for me. State policy is 8 weeks per LO.

  • I work for a non-profit.  "Paid" mat leave is a joke.  A very funny one at that.
