Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Does this ever happen to you?

Lately I've been waking up in the middle of the night looking for DD in our bed LOL She's been sleeping in her room since she was 2 months old. DH is getting quite annoyed by it LOL I don't know why I do this? I'll start looking for her and asking DH "Where's the baby?" She was right here" After he tells me: "She's sleeping in her room, go back to sleep" I'll come back to my senses.

  • Yes. I damn near give myself a heart attack sometimes because I think he's under the comforter. Meanwhile - he's fast asleep in his crib.

  • That happened to me when I wasn on maternity leave all the time.  I would wake up feeling panic because I couldn't find her but she would either be in her swing or bassinett.
  • YES!  Actually, DH and I have both done this on seperate occasions.  But we've also both done it more than once.  DS doesn't even sleep in our bed!  He has a few times on the weekends for naps and such - but that's it!  I'll imagine he's buried under the blankets suffocating and wake up throwing blankets on the floor.  LOL!  It's funny now, but really scary when you wake up searching for LO!  Glad to know DH and I aren't the only crazy ones!!!

  • Yes!!! DH and I both do this. I think its because we are so scared of rolling over on her a suffocating her that its in our heads while we sleep.
  • This will TOTALLY happen to me when we move him to his own room.

This exactly.  It doesn't happen so much anymore, but I used to wake up thinking I had rolled over on her or I thought I was hugging her too tight, but it ended up being the pillow.  And I only napped with her during mat leave.  We never had her sleeping in our bed at night.

That's the part that I don't understand, we moved her to her room 4 months ago and it's barely happening now.

  • I did this when she was a newborn which was so silly because she never ONCE slept in our bed... (I would also have BFing dreams and thought I lost her in the bed.) Again, never fed her in the bed so it made no sense.
  • THANK GOD someone else does this!  DD has never slept the night in our bed but for some reason I wake up and can't remember putting her back in her crib and getting myself back to bed after feeding her.  I sit up and look around, DH doesn't even notice...too busy getting a full night of sleep!
