xp: clomid question-if anyone took it

this is for my friend.  She has been on clomid for four months and she found a lump in her breast.  When she got an ultrasound they said its a mass, but they aren't positive what kind.  She has an appt. with a breast surgeon on monday, but she was curious if clomid could cause anything like this.  I did have tttc but I never took clomid so I had no information for her.  Thoughts and prayers for her though.  I already posted on SAIF too.  TIA  I just feel so bad for her since she has been trying to get pregnant for a long time, and now she is going through this.

Re: xp: clomid question-if anyone took it

  • I only took clomid for two months (evil, evil drug that it is) and didn't have anything like that. Of course, that's not to say it couldn't. I hope your friend is ok.

  • i took clomid for 4 months and my doctor never mentioned that it could cause any type of mass or growth. a mass isnt necessarily cancer though. ive had a cousin and 2 friends who both had tumors that were harmless and removed easily. my sister also had a "mass" a few years ago that turned out to be nothing. so sorry for your friend though. hope everything works out :)

  • I took it for three months and didn't have that issue. I had other side effects but they stopped when I stopped taking it.

I did conceive with it though.?

  • no advice on clomid, but I do want to caution her--if it's a benign lump, nothing cancerous and the doctor says it doesn't need to be removed right away, I'd advise leaving it alone until after she has a baby and is done BFing.  Any kind of surgery like that can impact your supply.  I had a benign lump and was given the option of removing it or leaving it but having increased obervation by the doctor.  I thought I'd just take it out and not deal with the hassle.  Only after having a baby did I find out that the surgery could have (and probably did) impact my supply.  So now I wish I had left it alone for a few years.  Oh well.
