I work on a hospital floor and my office is right in between pt rooms so co-workers are always popping in to chat. This one girl who I find extremely annoying but I'm nice to always comes and talks about her sister who is also pregnant.
She came in today and I asked how she was doing because I knew she only had 3weeks left. She said she's good. Preparing for her natrual birth. I said that's great! I make the mistake of saying I could never go without meds and plan on getting an epidural.
She gets this horrified look on her face and says she could never do that to herself or her baby. I'm thinking you're 19, just graduated from highschool. Do not judge me!
Re: I was judged today. :(
I know, I actually thought of that after I wrote it.
I was just aggrivated when she said it.

Wow, I'm trying to go natural and I usually get the opposite response. "Yeah we'll see how long you last" and "Don't be a hero"
I don't know what makes people think they can say whatever they want to a pregnant woman!!
I hear ya! I just couldn't resist
I am planning a natural birth, but I always try not to judge anyone else, because I hate when they judge my birth preferences.
Just as I say that I am SO DONE with the pregnancy judges, I find myself not being able to believe that my SIL, after having one m/c and taking a long time and much heartache to conceive, is going ahead with her plans to go snow skiing over Christmas.
Her decision, not mine. But yes, I'm Judgey McJudgerson too. At least I don't voice it.
umm let me just say I plan on going natural. HOWEVER, I would never judge anyone for their choices and yes since she has not been through labor yet she has no idea if she will end up with an epi or anything else, just like I don't know, or anyone else that hasn't tried it yet. That is her immaturity shining through.
Don't let her make you feel bad, you do what's best for you!!

I figure at this point if there was an issue with the drugs on you or the child they would have made some kind of change. Just sayin. Lol.
I have a friend who is pregnant as well and I told her I was getting all the meds I could (I am that young 20 year old lol) because I know I won't be able to handle the pain and she replied with "I believe the pain is in your head so I am going to use my on strength to get past it." This from the woman who wouldn't stop b!tch!ng about how much her fibro mialga(I know I mutilated the spelling) as much as she could.
P.S. I do NOT believe that condition is fake by any means but this woman complained about everything to get out of anything.

Yeah she told me all I have to do is breath throught the contractions. Any women that does it is awesome, I just don't think I can or want to try.
I didn't mean to judge young people, I was just aggrivated.

Her sister is probably one of those who think that dr.s are terrible and why would anyone not deliver at home in the middle of a flower garden or something (yes I'm being slightly sarcastic). I have no problem with people who want to do it that way, but don't act like I'm a bad parent because I want to be surrounded by technology!
Yes, i'd LIKE to not have an epi, but if I'm at 3 cm and dying of pain already, you bet I'm gonna get one!
No, she sounds young and like an idiot. I was forced to grow up and I know I am still young and really have no idea what I am doing. That is why I am here with you much older and wiser woman..lol.

I almost HAD to delivery DS without an epi. I can tell you, the pain is definitely NOT fake or just in my head. I'd like to slap that girl for you! I did try breathing through it. It was excrutiating because of how he was positioned. I don't care how people choose to give birth, but I do care when they start judging.
