who had the multidose H1N1 vaccine?

I was having trouble finding the single dose H1N1 vaccine, so I had to resort to the multidose, which has a small amount of the perservative thimersasol.  Did a lot of other people have this problem?  I read on the CDC that they recommend the vaccine regardless of thimerosal or not, but of coarse it makes me a little nervous.  I know what is done is done, but I just need some reassurance that I'm being nervous (like everything else the past 9 weeks).  Did anyone's doctor speak to them about this?

Re: who had the multidose H1N1 vaccine?

  • I had the multidose have absolutely no reservations about it.    People often mistake the mercury that is thimerosal as the mercury that is proven to cause health problems (methylmercury), but it actually contains ethylmercury, which leaves our bodies at a much faster rate and does not accumulate.    The amount that is in vaccines is such a small amount and is less than a can of tuna (which would have methylmercury, not ethyl...).  Don't worry/stress about it:)
