Question about Bottle Nipples....

I will ask on 0-3 as well but many of you are 2nd and 3rd time Moms so hopefully you can answer this as well. How many different types of nipples do you need? They have slow, medium and fast flow then of course cereal nipples. We were at BRU this weekend and just grabbed a bunch of the playtex ones (we'll be using the playtex with drop in liners). Anyways, we get home and start putting stuff away and apparently I have already purchased some from walmart, not to mention that all the bottles we got have slow flows on them. And, my girlfriend gave me some of her old bottles and all the nipples are shaped differently, so how I am to know what to use for little one? Should I wait to open all the ones I got to see what he prefers (all of mine are shaped the same though even though they are different)? Or did we go overboard and I should take some back now. We have like 2 packs of all of them. Seems Excessive.lol

Are you going to try BFing or FFing?

I BF and give bottles of EBM occasionally. DS still uses slow flow if he has a bottle now (which is REALLY rare). It's best for BFers to stick with slow flow until they are done BFing.

If you FF, then you'll be using slow for at least 3 or 4 months...then you might go to a medium flow. 

 As far as "cereal" nipples...you don't need those at all unless LO has reflux and your pedi recommends cereal in a bottle. If your LO doesn't have reflux you should NEVER give cereal in a bottle...just spoon feed it.

We won't be breastfeeding. I guess we may be taking some back then, they are almost 5 bucks a pack. Why do they sell cereal nipples if you aren't supposed to put it in a bottle? Gosh, this part is sooo confusing. Also, was there any specific shape your LO prefered?
