Recommend your baby monitor:

DH and I are looking into baby monitors. We are really into the monitors that have the under the mattress pad sensors to help detect if the baby stops breathing, and then it also has a listening mechanism along with it. What do you think of these types of monitors? Do they really work? Are they worth the extra money? What are your thoughts? TIA!!

I'd ask on the 0-3 board since they are using the monitors and can give some current feedback.

I think what you'd want is the Angel Care then.

We're using a co-sleeper for the first few months, so we went with a Sony Baby Call (fairly basic, but highly rated).

We have a sony baby call, our house is 4000 sq ft and we hardly ever use it. Honestly, I would wait it out and see what you end up using it for.

There is a Hisense movement monitor that supposedly doesn't interfere with other monitors and is rated well. I was looking at this to use with our Summer Day and Night Video monitor. I like the video monitor a lot! We have tested it on our fur baby! ?

I have the angelcare monitor. I used it for ds, and will use it again for dd. I cannot say enough good things about it. I was seriously obsessed with ds and his breathing, had nightmares about sids and was getting up every hour to check if he was still ok. The angelcare let me sleep for more than 2 hours at a time. I was SO worth it to us.

We got the Angel Care one. It has the movement monitor and sound monitor. It also works as a room temp. thermometer. 

 We have some friends that rave about it so that's why we went with it. However, I can't say how I like it for myself just yet. )
