asking if i'm having twins IS NOT a compliment

So its official,  I am 28 weeks and look huge.  Last night at my husbands christmas party I recieved many comments such as, "Your quite a bit bigger than K is" and might I add k is 36 weeks prego compared to my 28.  Ok no biggie I'm not letting this get me down.  Next comment "wow your really showing"  ok no shitt i'm pregnant i am pretty aware i'm showing.  Then to top the evening off I got asked if i was having more than one.  I had to take a moment to think if she was being serious...as a matter of fact she was.  My husbands male co worker just looked at her and me and then goes to me ya i can see how that would rub you the wrong way.  But got a kick out of it the rest of the night telling me how he probably couldnt have thought of anything meaner to say to a pregnant woman if he had tried.  I really wanted to go for a drink at this point...but resisted this urge.  So telling a pregnant woman shes basically fat and huge suchs just as much as not being pregnant.  Ok i'm done venting on this issue.

  • People love to make those wonderful comments

  • I got this last weekend and was surprised at how hurtful it was.  Next time, I'm going to reply that yes, it is twins, and I expect 2 gifts.
  • This happens to me all the time and it started early!

I just giggle and agree.  I remember how in 1st we all wanted to "show" so bad! LOL this is my payback. lol

  • I guess I'm just snarkier, because when women make these comments to me, I just respond, "oh you're expecting too? when are you due?" but only to the horribly rude people. I'm dying to respond to someone when they ask how far along I am, with.." Far along what? I'm not pregnant!" just to get a reaction... I'm horrible though. And find that stuff hilarious.
  • I get asked this question by the same bee-atch every week at the gym.

    a) the answer is no

    b) why do you keep asking?

    c) I may have to sit my fat a$$ on you to shut you up.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • WHY DO PEOPLE THINK IT'S OKAY TO SAY THAT!!!!

P.S.  I've gotten that comment a lot!  Nevermind I haven't gained a lot of weight (my OB sternly lectured me about it).  I'm just HUGE and I know it!

  • It seems you're never the right size for people. I bet you look absolutely adorable.

I get people telling me I'm too small and won't be able to carry full term, others who say how huge and fat I've gotten.

Generally I tell them they can't call me fat or huge or comment on how enormous I am unless I am bigger around than they are. I carry a tape measure too, in case they attempt to argue. ;) So far, I've won every single "argument" and every single person who has commented rudely now only says things like "Oh look how cute your belly looks" or "Hi Momma"

    mwahahahaha. <3
