3rd Trimester

Any reference to your pregnancy in Christmas photo cards?

What do you girls think about referencing your baby in your Christmas photo cards?  In the picture I'm using for ours, you can't really tell that I'm pregnant (my bump is still pretty small), so I'm wondering if I should sign it with something like, "DH, Capitol Baby, and Baby LastName"  Poor taste?

Re: Any reference to your pregnancy in Christmas photo cards?

  • I don't think its poor taste at all, I'm just crazy nervous about anything like that (sometimes I worry if anything happened to LO before/during delivery it would be tougher to handle with things like Christmas cards referring to her or cards signed from, K/C and baby makes 3!, etc)--but not everyone is neurotic like me-LOL

  • I'm not a fan of acknowledging baby in the signature until they're here. Everyone knows I'm pregnant- and if they don't they'll figure it out when they see the picture.
  • No, I don't plan to mention baby #2 at all on the cards. ?She'll be mentioned next year when she's here. ?There are a few people I'm sending to who don't know we're expecting again, so I just wrote a quick note ("We're expecting baby girl LastName in February!")

I always cringe a little when I get cards "signed by" an unborn child. ?jmo.

  • I personally wouldn't sign and Baby LastName.  Maybe just add "Baby Last Name due Feb 2010" under DH and CapitolBaby.

I always sign our cards the same way: "Jeff, Rebecca and Luna." People think it's funny that I sign the dog's name!

I do the same thing.  In fact our Christmas card this year is my siggy picture.

  • I think at this point it would be okay to include baby in your cards. Even if (God forbid) something should happen, the baby will still be considered a part of the family. I think it is in poor taste for first trimester babies to be included since there is a much higher risk of something happening..

Yeah, I wasn't going to include mention of the baby and then DH pointed out the dog signed the card so...

  • Personally I would not include the baby. Anyone I am sending a Christmas card to either knows we are pregnant or can figure it out when I send an announcement later on.
