Im a pretty open minded mommy but from the begining I said I'd try and never do:

Bottle feed, formula feed, use a soother, co-sleep, go to the bathroom with a baby in the sling on my chest, stuff my face at 3 am just because its the first time I've had my hands free in an entire day, carry hand sanitizer and give it to people before I let them hold my LO and abandon the idea of using cloth diapers after seeing how much a NB really poops LOL ( we'll re-visit that one at 3 months ).

Just thought I'd share some of the things I thought were funny about becoming a new mom !

There's a lot of things you intend to do before having a bay (or say you'll never do) that end up looking much to idealistic after the baby is actually there. Parenting so far has been all about flexibility.

I know there are going to be some things that I'll end up doing that I say I'll never do or things I wont do that I swear I'll do so I'm very careful to say "I'm going to try not to..." or "I'm going to try to..."

Like when I first started foster care. I swore I'd never give a baby a pacifier, and swore I'd never try the "letting baby CIO" method. 46 foster babies later, I let them CIO (when appropriate) but still never (not even once) used a pacifier.

Way before I had a child I swore MY child would never have a meltdown in the checkout line at the grocery store or be the screaming kid in a restaurant.  HA!  Yeah, right.  My child is very well behaved, but these are definitely not things you can always prevent.....even with the most disciplined child will fall apart in public and all your efforts to control it won't be enough!
