OMG if she keeps hacking like this I'm calling the pedi tomorrow!

The poor thing is coughing so bad and she's trying to take a nap.  She's exhausted.  Her cough is getting worst even though I gave her Mucinex....and of course the pedi's office is close.  I'm definitely calling them tomorrow.

I'm wondering if I can give her Mucinex AND Delsym.

I don't think they recommend Delsym for kids under 5 or 6.  I don't think it is effective either from the studies I read on cough meds for little people.  My DS has the same thing.  Little guy is super tired but keeps waking himself up coughing when he naps.  He slept great last night though, from 9 to 5 am, longer than he has ever slept at one time!  So maybe he isn't all that tired.

no because last time she wasnt wheezing.  She just got done with a 10 day course of Omnicef yesterday morning and of course she starts coughing last night.  Pedi thought it was a sinus infection drainage that was causing her to cough.

He did say that if the antibiotics didnt help then it probably its allergies and it might have to put her on predisone.

Is her head elevated? Do you have vicks (you could put it on her feet and on her chest/neck). Do you have a humidifier in her room? Do you have a vicks vaporizer in her room? I swear by all these things. They always help Preston when he has a really bad cough.

Beth I'm doing all that...been doing it since she first start coughing like 3 weeks ago.  Which makes me think its allergies and we need a different approach.

JOEBunny....pedi told me at first to give her 1/2 teaspoon of Delsym & when that stop working he told me to give Mucinex....1 packet every 6 hours.
