Hey! Thanks for checking in...we just got home from a 3+ hour visit at the pedi office....and we walked away being told she was severely constipated and they think she has a virus. They didn't feel the need to to a CT scan on the head/neck pain since she had a CT scan just 6 months ago, so they told me just to keep an eye on her and if she started acting like her neck was stiff to have her rechecked immediately. But otherwise they didn't see any other signs of meningitis so they didn't want to test for that. But they did test for flu and strep, and those were negative. She FINALLY peed this morning (after 17 hours of no urine output) and thankfully she peed in a cup so they were able to test it. No sign of a UTI, but they are going to culture it to make sure.
So basically they sent me home with liquid suppository (yes I had to give it to her) and then told me to watch the fever, head/neck pain and come back in a week, unless it gets worse then to have her rechecked sooner. I will say...she screamed bloody murder when I did the suppository...but had 2 successful bowel movements in under 10 minutes! Still no urine output other then what we had at the doctor...even though she's drinking anything in sight. I think if she doesn't pee this afternoon I'm going to call back. She's still complaining of the head/neck pain, but it doesn't seem to be stopping her from moving around too much, so I guess I'll try not to worry about it. She used to like going to the pedi's office...but after being poked and prodded and swabbed in every place they could stick something...I'm guessing she's going to fight going back!
On another note, they confirmed that Jeremiah is wheezing MORE now, even though he's had 5 days of an oral steroid and 2 days of albuterol in the nebulizer, so they added a steroid to the nebulizer treatment, so hopefully we'll see an improvement to how he's feeling in the next couple of days.
And lets just all pray that Kimberly doesn't start to show any signs of this virus...cause its coming out in such different ways, I don't even know what to expect to come next. Hopefully Kimberly will stay well!!
Thanks for checking in. All 3 kids are down for a nap now....I think I'm off in search of lunch and some chocolate to try and recoup from that appt before they wake up.
Re: Jonesey, looking for a Kathryn update....
