with my son I was really good about waiting until I was well into my second trimester before I bought anything. Even then, I didn't buy a ton, because I knew I was having a baby shower.
This time, there are two, and no shower, so I want to start buying stuff earlier. Plus, I know there is a possibility of bedrest and PTL, so I want to have as much done as possible.
Re: When did you start buying stuff?
if you come across great deals on used stuff that you need- i'd get it- but i wouldn't buy anything NEW for a while - b/c the sucky return policies in stores now would make it impossible to return months from now if you didn't need the things.
i'd wait until 20 weeks or so for new things... you'll also know the sex by then if you are finding out.
I bought a few things here and there at the beginning but waited until 20+ weeks before really getting into shopping. I have spent some quality time at Once Upon a Child since getting into the groove.
Ditto this.
I didn't start buying things until around 20 weeks, which also happened to coincide with a bunch of multiples sales.
I have also been stocking up on diapers when there were super good sales (and using coupons) from about 17ish weeks. Getting a pack or two here and there plus wipes, I have been able to build up a nice stash (sizes NB up to 3) and not spent a ton of money at once.
Even at 30 weeks, I still feel good enough to go out and browse the sale racks for clothes and clearance baby items!
