What would a bridesmaid wear in an outdoor winter wedding?

I'm in a friends wedding and we aren't sure what the bridesmaids are going to wear.

It's usually pretty nice throughout the winter and by the end of January (which is when they are getting married) it'll be in the 60's.

She hasn't settled on a color yet but has suggested black and we're looking for something that we could possibly re-use, so nothing too prom/wedding looking.  Should we do full length, tea length, sleeves, no sleeves?

Any suggestions?  She is possibly going strapless if it matters.

I would do full length. Probably sleeveless with some sort of shawl.

Yes casual, it's going to be in a beautiful backyard.

I'm in a wedding New Year's Day (also outdoor... even though we are going to freeze!). Our dresses are dark brown (would have been black, but groom's ex-wife just got re-married and their bridesmaids wore black so bride wouldn't do it lol). My dress is a full length one-shoulder, bride is strapless with fur shawl.
