How do you decide which pictures to scrapbook? I used to be an avid scrapbooker...worked at a local store, taught classes, scrapbooked everything! Well, I got VERY behind after getting married....and I've made a resolution to myself to get caught up. G is 19 months so I have a lot of catching up to do. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to decide what to actually scrapbook. I take hundreds of pictures each month of him, so I can't do them all. Should I just do 'events' like vacations, trips to the zoo, birthdays, holidays, etc.? Should I do events and monthly pages? I'm thinking I'll just put what I don't scrapbook into a regular album, but I'm having so much trouble sorting through pictures. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Re: Scrapbooking moms?
I don't scrapbook but like making those photo books. I plan on making 1 each year. But will probably also make seperate ones for big family vacations. If I were doing it I would make one spread - like two pages for big events like the zoo. Probably 2 spreads - 4 pages for bday and holidays to include the pics of lo with family as well as enjoying the day. I would go by chronologic order, but not try to follow 1 page per month since some months will have more important stuff than others.
I go through the pics and choose my favorites. Then go back and choose my favorites again out of those to actually use to narrow it down.
I made an 8x8 album of just his first month. I only needed one picture per page, and it helped show some of his firsts. It's the only album I've actually completed so far. I try to do a page whenever I get a chance, but since my scrapbooking area is a complete disaster, I've been holding off until I can get more organized. For the 12x12 pages I have done, it's usually whatever inspiration hits when I look at a picture. Some are from events, some are just pictures that I love so much I have to scrapbook them. Scraplifting also is a huge help for me. I try to go through the scrapbooking magazines I subscribe to and pull out layouts that catch my eye, and try to see how they would relate to a particular set of pictures.
