recommend a crib soother

those hang on the side of the crib things. i bought a baby einstein one, with an underwater scrolling scene. it seems ok but the light is really bright and the music sort of loud so it seems to overstimulate DD...

This might not be what you're looking for, but we used to play DS a CD of "white noises," like the sound of a dishwasher, clothes dryer, etc. It sounds crazy, but he used to conk out to it, and it worked like a dream. He had colic, and it was the only thing that would get him to sleep on his own. My friend gave it to us as a joke, and it ended up being on the best baby gifts we got.

what about the one that has projection on the ceiling, like the homedics. they're also sold at Bed Bath and Beyond, if you have $5 off or 20% off coupon... or walmart....
