Anyone have an ant farm for their child??

I am considering buying DS an antfarm. He loves any kind of bug but just not sure where to buy it or the ants. Any thoughts??

    Trust me. Until a kid is in about second grade, you do NOT want them to have an ant farm.

    Hi Wendy!

    My brother had one (3rd or 4th grade maybe?). Dropped it. In the house. Ants everywhere.

    Would he like a fish? It's not an insect but something he could watch, "care for"...

    Hehe, he is quite the fan of all creatures. He has 2 dogs (smaller), one goldfish and now in his words, "mommy I want some bugs." I think he is too small too but DH was like check into it. I think I am going to put it on the back burner.

    I saw them at Target last year...inside the box they have a form to fill out & send in for the ants.
