Mommys of movers (crawlers/walkers)

Just out of curiosity-once LO started moving around, did you find that you lost weight or maintained weight easier?  I'm about 5lbs away from my pre-pg weight, although I look nothing like I used to. Since I'm BFing I think I'm using that as my excuse to eat like junk more than I should. A year of eating extra food (between being pg and BFing) is going to throw me off and getting back to my old eating habits is going to be rough. I was just curious if chasing after a LO will get my metabolism moving more?

  • To be honest, I've started eating worse since Justin became more active. He is constantly exploring aka into things and tearing the house apart so I have way less time to think about what I'm eating.

I'd have to agree with this.  Plus I was never a snacker and now that G eats real people food (seems like constantly) we share alot and I snack with her(not that it's all bad stuff- I just wasn't a snacker before).

  • I wanted to add that I think chasing G around outside come spring will definitley get me moving more- it's just that there are only so many places to go in our house now.  Inside it's more just making sure she doesn't pull stuff down or get into anything dangerous; less chasing inside- although she is awfully quick:)
  • It's actually been the exact opposite for me.  I lost tons of weight through BFing and was below pre-pg weight, but as she was dropping more and more sessions, the weight started creeping back.  It also doesn't help that the weather is cold and we don't go outside as much.  And it's exactly what you said- I've been used to eating more for 2 years, so it's hard to just snap out of it.  I've been trying to be good with portion control and cutting out dessert, but it's hard.
