I just got some new sheets and they are flannel and I don't have time to wash them before putting them on the bed before I go to work.
Does anyone just put them on their bed straight from the package?
I always wash them first. I'd probably sleep on the bed without sheets at all before sleeping on brand-new ones, LOL. But, that's probably just my hang-up. I'm the same way about having to wash new clothes before wearing them too.
I just put them on the bed out of the package for myself but always wash the kid's new sheets. Doesn't bother me...I love the smell of new. Although...I do think flannel sheets are softer once they are washed.
I always wash linens before using them because they put all kinds of random crap on them before shipping them to stores to keep out bugs etc. I feel like they always smell weird too. I worked at Pottery Barn in college which is where I learned about the chemicals to keep bugs out. Gross.
I just got a new pair and when i washed them they realized a whole bunch of dye and lint into my washer. I think they would have dyed our clothes, pillows etc. (they were dark brown so lots of dye required)
