Please tell me the tree obsession goes away after a few days!

Max is obsessed with it!  Obsessed.  I can't turn my back or he will head right for it and start pulling off the ornaments.  I have a pile of them on my counter right now and I think I am just going to let them sit there for now.  Sam never touched the tree when he was Max's age, so this is a new joy for me.

So, if your DC was like mine, did they mellow out with the tree after a bit?

  • While I was setting it up & putting lights on, total trainwreck.  He's left it alone the past 2 days, but we'll see after we decorate it.  eek.

  • It took dd a few days but she still touches the other stuff we have around the house.  Now to keep the kitten out of the tree.  I woke up this morning to 6 balls on the floor.

A kitten and a Christmas tree may be the only thing worse than a toddler and a Christmas tree.  GL!

  • P never bothered the tree at that age either. BUT... he is touching every single ornament this time, demanding that he help put them on and taking them back off to play with them like a toy. He has already broke two of them.
  • Yeah, Sam is not helping matters either.  I think I'm going to end up with a tree that is only decorated on the top half.

  • I only have ornaments on the top half of our tree, but that's because of our kitten, not Alex. He's calmed down quite a bit about it now, so hopefully we're through the worst of it.

Hopefully Max will get over it too!

  • Hang it from the ceiling! I kid, I kid. Sort of.

    I'm dreading it with DS.

  • Oh, the cutest part with Alex is that he hangs our flashlights in the tree. I guess he thinks they go with the Christmas lights or something. He has a tiger flashlight (it growls when you turn it on) and he has that precariously balanced in the branches.

Butterbean, is it just me or are you married to Robert Redford circa 1964?

Hmmmmm. I honestly have never heard Robert Redford, but I'll take it....lol.

  • oh boy, my DS is younger than yours and I was worried about this. I was thinking I should get a gate to put around it. how pretty would that be? LOL

My firstborn didn't touch it much either!

If I had a clue how to PIP, I would show you the staggering resemblence.  Sadly, I can neither spell nor PIP.
