I like it better for a boy, but I plan to use that name for a girl if we do not have any boys...I say if you like it then you should definitely use it.

The only time I've heard Parker as a name is the fact that both my sister and I have boy cats named Parker (pure coincidence...those were the names they came with).  So for a girl, I don't think it works.  But I agree with other folks that Brooke Parker would be good...

I love Parker Brooke! I like Parker for a girl the best, I know a little girl named Parker Alice and I think it's adorable.

Definitely screams out BOY when I hear the name Parker.  I'm not a fan of the name for a boy either...known too many Parker's who were not nice people.  I don't think Parker is a name that crosses over well to be a girl's name.

It makes me think of Parker Posey too.  I like the name in general and think it could be cute for a girl.  We are considering Preston for a girl (which very few people on here liked), so I obviously like the boy names for girls.

I like Parker, it reminds me of the actress Parker Posey, but DH vetoed it a loooooong time ago. Not a fan of Brooke as a mn, doesn't flow very well.

Actually, it's almost an inside joke. My middle name is Brooke. My best friend's middle name is Brooke. My grandmother has always called me "BlueRidge Brooke" and I guess that started the spread. My mom goes by "Mommy Brooke" and she calls any of my close friends "Katy Brooke, Kindsay Brooke, etc." and they call themselves that. It's all rather silly, but a sentimental thing - especially for my grandmother (who we call Mee Maw Brooke)

But I don't care for it as a first name. I know too many Brooke's.
