How much weight did you gain during ivf/ohss?

Since I began stims on November 9th i have gained 20 lbs!  I have ohss right now and look like i am, no exaggeration, 6 months pregnant.  My transfer was cancelled and we will do a FET once I am better.  This has been the most painful experience of my life.  The pain seems to have subsided, i am still extremely uncomfortable and havent shed a pound of the 20, my ER was last Sunday....

Oh man, I am so sorry that you have been in so much pain.

What has your doctor said?  Did they do an ultrasound to see if you have fluid and if it is possible to get it drained?

I have not had an ultrasound since er, only blood work.  I definately have fluid but it seems they mostly try to steer away from draining, and just let us get better on our own.  I think the worst is over but i am really worried about the amount of weight i have gained, it doesnt seem normal.

I hope you are better soon.  I was at risk for OHSS and my doctor  put me on restricted fluids (1 liter of gatorade and 1 can of V8 juice).  Apparently when your blood is high in electrolytes it will pull the water away from you abdomen through osmosis and out of your body.  My doctor also put me on dostinex.  So far it is keeping the OHSS away.

Islandlife...did you have any weight gain from your ivf cycle?  i have been told to drink gatorade and water...i was also given dosinex but unfortunately still got ohss.  Im going to get a v8 in the morning, maybe i will feel some relief.  Only good thing is i have 17 frozen embies waiting for me to get better!

 So far there as been no weight gain.  My ER was on Thursday.  My RE said to stay away from water and any other clear fluids (milk is ok).  Only drink the gatorade and V8.  I think I have to do this for about 2 weeks.  

Wow that is a lot of embryos.  I got 11 eggs and 9 embryos so far.

I don't have OHSS but yes, I've put on about 20 pounds!  Making me sit on my butt and not doing any exercise does that to me.  I keep joking that my dh should stand back when he jabs me with the progesterone shot becuase I may deflate at any moment and the water will come seeping out!  The drugs can make you very bloated.
