I'm starting stims this week for IVF #2. I know that a lot of girls on here have done acupuncture during their cycle but I've heard mixed reviews about it. If I do it, when during my cycle should I go? Also, I've heard some girls say they didn't think the acupuncture did much and wished they would have just spent the money on a few massages instead. Any thoughts about which one would be better/more effective? Has anyone just done massage during their cycle? Thanks for your help!
Re: acupuncture or massage - saifw
i've only done acupuncture and although I haven't had any success per se I love it for the relaxation of it...it totally helps me chill out!!

i'm going for my 2nd acupuncture appt tomorrow for this cycle. I usually go for massages 1-2 times monthly, but my IVF nurse said massages might be too hard for me while i'm stimming, because i might have trouble laying on my stomach, bloating, etc... so, i froze my massage envy membership, probably until the end of my 1st tri.
I will continue acupuncture while i'm taking my massage break.

I am doing acu once a week. I really believe it can work, but you have to stick with it more than one month. I tend to give up on things if they don't work right away....plus it does get expensive. If you have the money, try it, but be prepared to have to go for a few months, once a week.
I tried Reiki massage for the first time this cycle and loved it. They were very gentle and a lot of it is energy/healing work where they hold their hands above your body. You may want to try this over a traditional massage.
