PIP: Just decorated the Christmas tree!

I put the tree up last night, but was too chicken to go into the dark (unfinished) basement to find the decorations when I couldn't find a flashlight.  LOL.  (You have to walk into the center of the storage room to find the pull string for the light.  No thanks.)Anyway, I just love how a Christmas tree looks!  I told DH I want to get all new at the end of this season when everything goes on clearance.  I have a fake tree and want to get a pre-lit one.  Plus, I want a taller tree now that we have 9' ceilings.  The 6 1/2' tree we have now looks kind of puny.  I want to change up the colors, also.  We've had this set up for 5 years now--even though I think it still looks pretty. image

  • I am so jealous I want our tree so bad but we are waiting to put it up until after DD birthday party trying to  keep it a little seperate this year so not until the 12.  But atleast the inside and outside are done.  I love your tree so pretty
  • It looks great, we just put ours up last night not going to lie im kind of upset we got a fake white one this year I miss a real one. But ours did come with lights on it so it?s not that bad.

  • Very pretty tree. I'm jealous that your tree looks so nice and "grown up". My tree is very mix matched. It has all the ornaments that I received from my mom every year of my life and it has dh's ornaments that I have bought him every year that we have been together, and Preston's ornaments every year of his life (so far). Each ornament means something about the year it was bought. It's a nice thought, but looks "messy".
  • Your tree is very pretty but looks bare compaired to mine.  I have a TON of ornaments on it including birds and fruit.  I just love it jumbled up.  Looks "homey".  I also have all different colored lights (probably about 800 total...at least).  While growing up we used to have a fake tree (it was blue and kind of reminded me of the Charlie Brown Chrismtas tree).  We did have different colored lights and different ornaments on it though.  I remember when I was little and seeing trees with angel hair on them.  I thought it looked so heavenly but of course you can't use that on artificial trees.  I did use it when we had real trees though but not sure if you can even buy it anymore.  It just makes the lights "glow".  I put on big lights as well as little lights.  I also put tinsel on the tree...it helps fill in gaps and gives a lot more places to put ornaments.  : )
