Infertility

15 follies on Day 4 of stims.

Does that seem normal?  I didn't see my doctor today, just a nurse, so I didn't really ask any questions.  Just wondering if that's pretty typical.

Re: 15 follies on Day 4 of stims.

  • I had about 14 on day 5 of stims and the nurse said it was in line with what they want to see.  She also said that it could change a lot between that appointment (friday) and my next one (monday).  (I don't have any basis for comparison since this is my first IVF cycle).

Sounds like you're right around where I was!  Good Luck!

  • Ok, that makes me feel better.  I just worry that if you have too many that means they may not be of very good quality. I always kick myself after appointments for not asking questions.

  • I have the same problem - I always think of a TON of questions as soon as the nurse or dr walk out of the room.  My biggest question is really about the risk of not having any swimmers thaw or not enough to fertilize all the eggs.  I'm just too chicken to ask.  Right now I'm trying to ignore the issue.

Never thought about the sperm not thawing well! Definitely need to write that question down. It is easiest just to ignore it sometimes, but you never know...hopefully the answer you get will ease your fears.

I wasn't trying to give you something  to worry about!

I've been telling myself that if the clinic was really worried, they would have pushed the donor backup (or planned to have the urologist available).  Who knows - if I'm feeling brave maybe I'll ask tomorrow.

Did your Dr ever say anything about your odds for success?  LOL - I haven't asked that either.  Granted I haven't seen my RE since June....
