DH and I were putting up Christmas decorations when I discovered that the base of my ceramic Christmas tree was broken.  I told DH to be careful with the boxes and I watched him drop one of the boxes as he got it down from the shelf.  Sure enough that was the box with all the breakables.  I'm so mad - and to top it off he said it was my fault because I didn't pack it well enough.  It was wrapped very well but ceramic and concrete floors don't mix!  Now I'm trying to find a replacement on Ebay because my mom got it for me and I don't have the heart to tell her that its broken.

Oh no..is there any hope to glue it back together..even if you can still tell..it will be a story of a lifetime for your future children etc...I have a Rookwood Vase from my Grandmother that would be worth about $400. But it is worth nothing b/c my Grandfather came home one night after being out with his buddies and knocked it off the mantel. My Granny glued it back together, was crushed about it..

I love it because it has meaning. It is worth way more than the $400 had it not happened..to me..maybe this can be the same way...

Unfortunately the base is in tiny pieces.  There is no way to glue it back together.  I'm going to ask the art teacher at school if there is any way to fix it.  I'm hoping she can help me out.  I found one that looks the same, just a few inches taller on ebay.  I'm hoping to win it without paying a fortune.  The art show that my mom got it at was this past weekend, so if I had looked at it yesterday I would have been able to get another from the original artist.    I guess I might just have to wait until next year to replace it and you better believe DH will be going to the craft show with me!
