Pain After Lap for Endo

so, i got a lap a month ago and i'm still having the same pain in the same places as before the surgery. it's totally bearable, if i wasn't looking for it, i'm not sure if i'd really notice it, it's just making me worried. i have stage IV endo - i had a large ovarian cyst and one of my tubes removed in addition to adhesions in other areas including my bladder. my pain was never bad and has no rhyme or reason as to when i would get it during my cycle. just like what i'm having now.

what were others recovery experience with removing endo during a lap?

Re: Pain After Lap for Endo

  • My pain greatly improved after having my lap.  My periods are still very irregular but that is due to also having PCOS.  They were overall lighter and with less cramps.  The pain I had at random times when not having my period as well as the pain I had during sex have all greatly diminished.  That said, you're only a month out from your lap.  Give yourself some time to heal... it's major surgery and your insides are probably just still recovering.  Good luck, I hope you see some improvement in the coming months!  :)

  • It took me a solid 3-4 months for the pain to go away. Now, almost two years later, I may have some random pain a few times a month but it isn't anything like I was experiencing. Like the pp said, you had major surgery so give yorself time to heal inside!
  • thanks, i do need to remind myself that it was a major surgery and my body needs time to heal. i'm new to endo (or at least knowing i have it) and it's been crazy to think that the random pangs of pain i was having were severe endo. what a crazy disease.
  • Endo sucks, so sorry that you are going through this.  Sometimes, it actually grows back faster than they can burn it off.  I have had two surgeries within 6 months.  In fact, I had another lap in May 09 and am giong back in Dec 09.  You will learn to recognize the difference in the pains.  I can pretty much pinpoint where and when a cyst grows.  You are the best way to detect things, women's intuition sometimes trumps a Dr.!!!  Good luck with everything, feel better soon!!!
