Baby getting stuck on stomach at night+

So, my 6 month old has been transitioned to the crib for the most part, except for maybe 1 nap per day, still in the bassinet or swing.  The thing is, she's rolling over onto her stomach in the middle of the night & getting stuck & very ticked off....she will scream & scream & wake my 20 month old up, of course.....she was a very late roller (5 months old) & has just started rolling recently, but doesn't have very good strength yet to get herself over sometimes, so she gets stuck.  Any suggestions?

  • Honestly?  I think it is one of those things she is just going to have to figure out.  It seems like it takes a week or 2.  Put a sound machine or noise maker in your sons room and see if that helps him to sleep a little better.

  • Your kids are adorable!  Your DS is just older than my DD1.  I don't remember seeing you had 2 DD's though!  Congrats!

My first thought was a sleep positioner, but she is really too old for that and it would be really short lived.  I think you just have to work it out.  Are the girls in the same room?  If so, also tough....  white noise machine may help.  My girls also have a lullaby CD that runs all night, on repeat.

  • Thanks!  My girls are 14 mos apart.  I figured she would have to work this one out, but hopefully it happens sooner rather than later!!!  I think it will...she's starting to roll more throughout the day when I put her on her mat...by now, my other DD was rolling all over the room..LOL...they are all so different.

  • It's funny how different all kids are!  14 mo apart!  You are a brave, brave woman!  I get looks for having a 2 & 4 yo & being PG.
  • Agh, we went through that as well. It was quick lived though. Maybe a week or so. Now she enjoys sleeping on her belly. My son has a noise machine in his room and that seems to help sometimes.
