XP: recommend your rocker/glider

My MIL is going to get us a rocker/glider for Christmas.  She said she wants to spend about $300.  I would be perfectly happy with the $140 rocker at Wal-Mart but she wants to make sure she gets a nice one since we will spend lots of time using it with 2 babies.  Anyone have any recommendations?

TIA!

Re: XP: recommend your rocker/glider

  • i recommend getting a really comfy rocking recliner - not the typical glider - because they are much more comfy, serve the same purpose- yet, you can sleep on them when needed - which we have done a lot with Griffin when he's sick, etc -- we have one in his room and in the twin's room - i love them.  they also take up less room b/c you don't have an ottoman sitting there all the time.
  • I went to a regular furniture store yesterday and got a leather glider/recliner that I think should be wide enough for the 3 of us.  It reclines nearly all the way back and is super comfortable.  Plus the leather will be super easy to clean.   I got it for under $400...thanks to black friday

  • We're picking up a rocker recliner from Sam's Club this weekend for less than $300. It reclines all the way back and is wide and super comfy.
  • We are also going with a rocker/recliner. The convenience of being able to sleep in it and the larger size over a glider are definite pluses.

  • We went with a leather rocker/recliner.  It's a bit more expensive but it will last us and we'll fit in it longer.  It was a rec from another twin mom.  It's in their room and I know we will get a TON of use out of it.  With leather you can juts wipe it clean and later when we move it out of their room we"ll move it to the living room.  We got our on sale for about $550.
