spotting - tear around placenta

On Wed i went to the bathroom and had to go #2. I wasn't constipated, but had to push a bit. when i wiped, there was bright red blood. No cramping. What did i do - freak out, of course. I called dr, went right in. U/s revealed a "really tiny tear around the placenta of Baby B". Baby B is higher than Baby A - Baby A is like down in my crotch somewhere. the tech thought this was strange but couldn't comment further, she's just the tech. Dr. reviews and tells me this is common, to rest with my feet up, not bedrest, but just take it easy. No blood remainder of day.

On Thursday morning, i get up to go #2. Same thing - some red blood when I wiped. 

I go back for an u/s on Thursday morning - one week.

I haven't had any other bleeding except for those 2 occasions, and no cramping. I've researchced the tear around the placenta, but most articles talk about it in later in pregnancy. I'm in still in the first trimester.  

Has anyone had this? What could happen? Did I cause this with my "pushing"? Need some real advice!!

I'm going to drive myself batty the next 6 months if these things continue to happen!!

Are you sure that the blood is coming from your vagina? You may have hemorrhoids if on both occasions you were going #2. If that's the case, eat a high fiber diet, drink a ton of water and don't push when you poop. If it was vaginal bleeding, it sounds like a subchorionic hemorrhage, where you get a small tear of the placenta away from the wall. If that is the case, don't worry about it. It puts you at a slight increase for miscarriage, but the majority of them resolve over time and women go full term. A lot of ladies, including me, had them and progressed with pregnancy with no problems. Just relax like your doctor says. 

Also, don't drive yourself crazy with worry. Easier said than done, I know. Although I know it's the scariest thing in the world, I've been there, there's nothing that worrying can help.  I look back on the nights I tossed and turned over something that turned out just fine and I wish I hadn't lost all that sleep. You'll get through it.

I had that around 8 weeks. Was just told to rest and it resolved itself after just one bleeding episode. No problems since.

I agree with the previous posters, you need to figure out if the blood is only when you go number 2?  Then it could be hemorrhoids and not vaginal at all.  I had a subchorionic hemorrhage at 7 weeks and I spotted for a week but it dissolved and all is well now.  I hope you find resolution soon, any blood is scary.

where is the blood coming from?  I had bleeding during #2 a while back and freaked out.  I didn't totally know where it was coming from and went striaght to L&D.  Once there I realized the bleeding had totally stopped.  My Dr was there and she checked me and it was coming from my rear (I was quite embaressed).  It turned out it was an internal hemroid that I didn't know I had and she told me to start taking a stool softener.  Since then I have had no problems.  GL!
