I think this was everyone's immediate assumption as well, and definitely mine. Right after it was posted via Twitter from an ESPN guy, he posted another article saying that alcohol wasn't a factor. So, let's hope!

They did say that charges are pending. Maybe reckless driving?

I envision...pealing out of the driveway, slamming into the fire hydrant, maybe he hits his head and blacks out, and hits the tree?

This, maybe.  Maybe he was heated after a domestic argument and was blinded by anger?  Anything is possible...

I know they said, "alcohol is not a factor", but I call PR BS on that.

2:25 am. Holiday weekend. I would bet he was under the influence. I hope I'm wrong though.

And he was distracted thinking about the great deals he was going to get so he hit the hydrant.

TMZ says he was driving a Cadillac SUV.  Makes it seem even more weird.

Perhaps he was playing with apps on his iPhone?

I am trying to think of other reasons there would be charges pending. But NOW Espn just said no charges.

I just read on Twitter that it is serious facial injuries given the air bags didn't deploy.

I love Tiger Woods.

Oh and that his manager says he is "fine" and has been released.
