I've been reading a lot about BFing and everything I see says a baby should nurse 8-12 times a day. Henry is nursing every 4 hours and seems satisfied. He is having enough dirty/wet diapers. Should I assume he is eating plenty?
jack is about on that 4 hour schedule as well, sometimes its longer sometimes its much shorter. we get plenty of dirty and wet diapers and he gained over a pound last week. i am assuming he is getting plenty and feeding him when he wants fed.

depends on his age but it seems fine. my lo nurses sometimes every 5 hours and sometimes every hour
My Henry has varied a lot lately... like yesterday, he fed every two hours from the morning until the afternoon, then had two 5-hour stretches later on. I realized he only ate 5 times yesterday, which is not normal for him (usually he eats about 7 times) but I figure he will let me know when he's hungry.
Now that he's back up over his birthweight, the doctor said I don't need to wake him up to eat. So unless he seems sick or something, I'm just going with his natural schedule.

Re: How often does your LO nurse?
If he doesn't act hungry I would assume he is getting enough.
Caleb nurses every 3 hours because he is hungry.

Mine eats about every 3 during the day and 4 at night, so he hits about 10x a day.
I knew he was eating enough when he gained 2 pounds in a month:)
